What do you enjoy about your job?
What I enjoy about my job is assisting families in a critical and difficult time in their life.
How long have you been a location manager?
I have been a part of the Burkin Svensens team since 2015.
What do you enjoy in your spare time?
I am a busy mum of 3. When I am not at work I love gardening and of course spending time with friends and family.
Are there any special community groups you work with or support?
I am also very involved in our community life volunteering at hospitals and for charities such as Cancer Council or delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.
"I come from a strong customer service background and found myself as a grief support volunteer for a local group. This lead me to the funeral industry. It is an honour to be able to assist families in this journey and to be there to listen to their needs and help provide a service that best suits them."
Garry brings more than 5 years' experience within the funeral industry to Burkin Svendsens Funerals, where he presently assists client families by arranging and conducting funeral services for their loved ones.
"I first joined the funeral industry at a small funeral home in Cairns in April 2006. I joined Burkin Svendsens Funerals in April 2007 as a trainee embalmer with Aaron Burkin becoming my embalming mentor. Since starting in the industry, I have worked from washing and cleaning vehicles to embalming in very remote locations and have loved every minute of it."
